The new issue of Flaunt certainly caught my eye while I was out today. Check out the cover emblazoned with psychadellic kitties and magic mushrooms! Unfortunately it was just a tease, there are no more felines to be found in the issue....wah! I'd take a cat photoshoot/interview over Beck anyday but you all know we're biased here at Cat Party.

Kim Gordon Wants to Dress You (Sort Of)
I’m recent years I’ve had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Kim Gordon. I love her because she’s, you know, Kim Gordon, but I always feel like she’s silently judging me when I see her on the street. Does anyone else know what I’m talking about? Anyway, last Sunday the New York Times ran a little article about her new clothing line Mirror/Dash, which at the moment consists of only one Built By Wendy-ish jacket. Only 50 of the $415 “Françoise” jackets will be sold (weird, right?) so if you’re fast you can snag one here or at Satine in LA. Maybe if you wear one she’ll give you a courteous nod of approval instead of an icy death stare. Or not.

Agent Provocateur: Witches
Halloween is in full swing at Agent Provocateur with the debut of their latest interactive feature; a "choose your own adventure" game featuring a spooky mansion filled with scantily clad ladies (including Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof) eager to dominate their manservants. The whole thing has a campy horror/Kenneth Anger vibe so if you're into that follow the virgin.
I'd say it's probably NSFW...depending on where you work.

Cat Fancy: Kittens in Paradise
A few weeks ago I went to an afternoon barbecue and was overcome with jealousy when I spotted this amazing dress on my friend Diana. This beauty actually blows my mind; kittens playing/screaming in an island paradise? Genius! I offered her a very pretty penny for it but she politely declined. Oh well, I guess I'll just need to become a textile designer so I can make amazing prints like these (Joanna are you out there?).

Just to clarify the kittens are not silk-screened on, they are a part of the print and pop up in a few other locations on the back of the dress. I just can't believe that this fabric ended up on a cute day dress, rather than a muu-muu the size of Texas. Although I guess it would be cool to find this fabric made into a giant muu-muu because you could maybe transform it into a dress, purse and scarf. Wow. Thrift store find of the year!

Out on the Streets (again)
So I wound up on the Elle.com homepage, which is totally flattering and weird. I guess Elle was totally feeling the Russian/ bohemian/ whatever look that I had going on that day. I hope Kate Lanphear sees that photo and wants to be my best friend. Then we can wear those matching "best friends" necklaces, have fun shopping trips at IKEA, and indulge in weekly mani-pedis with Nina Garcia. Sweet!

Mooka Kinney: The Break-Up
Sometimes break-ups are a good thing. I was saddened when I heard that one of my favorite lines Mooka Kinney would soon be no more but now that the solo collections are out I've had a change of heart. Rachel Antonoff has been designing under her own name and Alison Lewis just recently launched "Lewis", both heavily influenced by sweet little vintage getups. Double the fun!

Mag Hag: Distill
Buying a $20 magazine just for one editorial always makes me feel like I'm back in high school buying some crappy soundtrack just because it has one Hole song on it. This is why I appreciate the concept behind Distill magazine, which basically consolidates all of the best content from various alternative fashion magazines into a singular title. Judging from the cover, we should expect to see bits and pieces from V, Acne Paper, Numéro, and Man About Town, among others. I have yet to encounter a copy of Distill so I can't vouch for it's quality, but with an editorial board that includes Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson, and Visionaire's Stephen Gan---it can't be half bad.
